STD Testing Process
At the ProHealth STD testing clinic, we test for each particular STD separately. The only STD test requiring a formal doctor’s order is HIV testing, but existing patients of our clinic and individuals belonging to a program or under the care of a physician who may accept results can also have HIV testing without the need for an official request.
Regardless of where testing takes place, all STDs are legally required to be reported to the Health Department. ProHealth’s STD testing clinic sends samples to Quest Labs, who then notify the Health Department of any STDs that have been found. Most test results are processed in an average of 72 hours, which means that you’ll have accurate answers in a relatively short period of time.
For anyone who cannot afford the cost of testing, the Health Department conducts free testing for HIV and syphilis from 4:30 p.m.to 6:00 p.m. on the first Thursday of each month.
STD Tests & Prices
Chlamydia/GC (Urine) $105 – A molecular test that detects the genetic material (DNA) of Chlamydia trachomatis, a sexually transmitted disease.
Herpes Type 1 & 2 (HSV) $105 – Used to detect both Herpes Simplex Virus Type 1 and Herpes Simplex Virus Type 2 (HSV-1 and HSV-2) by searching for antibodies to the viruses. HSV-1 and HSV-2 both cause oral and genital herpes.
HIV (Screen Serum) $78 – Shows whether you are infected with HIV (human immunodeficiency virus).
RPR (FTA) $65 – A blood test used to screen you for syphilis. It works by detecting the nonspecific antibodies that your body produces while fighting the infection. Syphilis is a sexually transmitted infection (STI) caused by the spirochete bacterium Treponema pallidum.

Woman's Health Services
In addition to STD testing, our medical clinic locations provide women’s health services at affordable prices. We offer PAP smears, manual breast exams, and can write prescriptions for birth control. Providers at select locations can perform IUD removals (an appointment is recommended).
